SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of communication technology and discloses a method for processing a reference signal. In a method for the configuration of measurement of a reference signal, a configuration of the reference signal, a measurement assessment parameter, and measurement start information are received by means of a terminal device. A type of the reference signal is SS synchronization signal or a reference symbol of CSI-RS channel status information. Measurement start information contains event start information or periodic measurement configuration information. The measurement assessment parameter contains: a measurement value for beam sorting, a measurement value for starting the measurement event, and a threshold value H. In this case, event start information instructs the terminal device to perform measurement and communication based on the start of the event of reference signal measurement, periodic measurement configuration information instructs the terminal device to perform measurement and communication in a periodic manner; measurement and communication are performed by means of the terminal device based on the configuration of the reference signal, the measurement assessment parameter, and measurement start information.

EFFECT: reduction in the activation of a measurement interval, which reduces the reception and sending of terminal device data.
