SUBSTANCE: disc brake operated electrically or pneumatically for a commercial vehicle containing: a brake disc (4) with a preferred direction (D) of rotation, a brake shield (2), a brake caliper mounted on the brake shield (2) with the possibility of movement, a brake pad (5) on the tightening side and the brake pad (6) on the reaction side, which are located in the corresponding shaft (203) of the brake shield (2) on the tightening side and in the shaft (204) on the reaction side with the possibility of moving parallel to the axis (A4) of rotation of the brake disc, a tightening device containing a single pressure piston (304), which has a middle axis (M1), and a pressure pad (306) facing the brake pad from the tightening side, acting with the pressure surface (307) on the counter thrust surface (53) of the brake pad (5) from the tightening side, so that when the brake is tightened, a working surface is formed between the pressure surface (307) and the thrust surface (53), moreover, the brake pad (5) on the tightening side and the brake pad (6) on the reaction side in the direction of the periphery are oriented centered with respect to the brake disc and the middle axis of the piston (304), moreover, the working surface on which the pressure surface (304) and the thrust surface (53) when tightening the disc brake are adjacent to each other, in the direction of the periphery, lies offset towards the run-out with respect to the preferred direction of rotation of the brake disc (4) and the middle axis of the piston (304).

EFFECT: improvement of the brake pad due to the only thrust surface eccentric with respect to the line of gravity for a pressure piston with a pressure surface, the ease of implementing the movement of the working surface from the run-out side.
