METHOD FOR PREDICTING INTRAVENTRICULAR HEMORRHAGES IN DEEPLY PREMATURE NEWBORNS Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC G01N33/49 G01N33/84

Abstract RU 2778301 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely neonatology, pediatrics and neurology, and can be used to predict the development of intraventricular hemorrhages (IVH) in deeply premature newborns by determining the gestational age and examining peripheral venous blood on the first day of life. In newborns with a gestational age of less than 32 weeks, the concentration of total calcium (Ca2+) and the average concentration of platelet components (MPC) are determined and the prognostic index D is calculated using the formula:

D = -28.943 - 0.054 x A1 + 3.754 x A2 + 0.908 x A3, where:

A1 – ureteropyelography gestation period in full obstetric weeks;

A2 is the concentration of total calcium (Ca2+), mmol/l;

A3 – the average concentration of platelet components (MPC), g/dl;

-28,943 – CONSTANT. With D greater than 0, the development of IVH is predicted in the early neonatal period. When D is less than 0, the absence of IVH in the early neonatal period is judged.

EFFECT: method provides an opportunity to increase the availability of predicting IVH in the early neonatal period in deeply premature newborns through the use of laboratory parameters included in the standards of medical care for newborns, which provides the use of the method as a screening method, since it is simple to perform and involves the study of a small amount of blood.
