FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agrochemistry and can be used for the quantitative determination of humic substances in liquid humic agents. Method for determining the content of humic substances in liquid humic agents by spectrophotometry, including the spectrophotometric analysis of a solution of humic substances, wherein, prior to determining, the impurity precipitate is removed by centrifugation from a sample with a known concentration of humic substances; an aliquot is taken from the resulting mother liquor and diluted with distilled water in a ratio from 1:100 to 1:500; the most sensitive wavelength in the range from 310 to 800 nm is determined, and calibration graph is built, used to calculate the content of humic substances in the tested samples.

EFFECT: above method is effective for determining the content of humic substances in liquid humic agents, is characterised by high accuracy, can reduce the labour intensity, lower the number of used reagents and the testing time.
