SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the food and chemical-pharmaceutical industries, namely the production of biologically active substances with high antioxidant activity. A method for increasing the biological activity of sodium alginate involves dissolving sodium alginate in distilled water to obtain a 1% solution, ultrasonic treatment with a frequency of 22±1.65 kHz, a radiation intensity of at least 10 W/cm2, a power of 630 W/l for 18 min at temperature 50±5°C.

EFFECT: method allows to increase the biological activity of sodium alginate, its bioavailability and antioxidant activity.
