FIELD: steel industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to continuous casting of steel. The method for continuous casting of steel includes cooling the slab with water in the sections of the continuous casting plant. As the first section along the direction of slab extraction, a section is set from the starting point at which the slab contains a fraction of the solid phase, the average value of which in the direction of thickness in the center of the slab width is in the range of 0.4-0.8, to the end point at which the average value of the fractions of the solid phase in the direction of thickness in the center of the slab width is larger than the average value of the solid phase fractions at the starting point, and is 1.0 or less. In the first section, the slab is cooled with water at a water flow rate of 50-2000 l/(m2min). As the second section, a section is set below the first section in the course of the technological flow, the length of which is preliminarily determined. The cooling water consumption in the second section is lower than in the first section. The surface temperature of the slab in the second section is 200°C or less.
EFFECT: reduction of the axial liquation of the slab is provided.
