SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of computing technology for processing audio data. The technical result is achieved by retrieving diffusivity data from the input signal; generating one or more components of the acoustic field of the first group of components of the acoustic field from the input signal, wherein said group has a direct component and a diffuse component for each component of the acoustic field; and generating a second group of components of the acoustic field from the input signal, wherein said components only have a direct component; said generating includes performing energy compensation while generating the first group of components of the acoustic field, wherein the energy compensation depends on the diffusivity data and at least one of the number of components of the acoustic field in the second group, the number of diffuse components in the first group, the maximum order of components of the acoustic field of the first group, and the maximum order of components of the acoustic field of the second group.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of generating a description of the acoustic field from the input signal.
