METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE MINIMUM SUFFICIENT BIN SIZE FOR PLACING SOURCES AND RECEIVERS DURING SEISMIC SURVEYS Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC G01V1/00 G01V1/28 G01V1/30

Abstract RU 2779518 C1

FIELD: geophysics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of geophysics, in particular to methods for seismic exploration. The invention can be used in planning and conducting seismic work (surveys), in particular in determining 2D and 3D observation systems. A method for determining the minimum sufficient size of the bin to place sources and receivers during seismic surveys, in which: determine the velocity of the passage of a seismic wave, reflecting boundary of the roof of the formation, bearing frequency of the seismic wave and the length of the seismic wave are determined; as well as the initial size of the bin and its center. Iterative repetition of the steps is also carried out to determine the minimum sufficient bin size, if the similarity measure of two adjacent seismic traces (FNRMS) is greater than or less than the threshold value, then the initial bin size is changed and the iterative implementation of the steps to determine the minimum sufficient bin size is carried out, if the similarity measure of two adjacent seismic traces (FNRMS) is equal to the threshold value, then the minimum sufficient size of the bin is determined, which is equal to the original size of the bin, and the termination of the iterative implementation of the steps to determine the minimum sufficient size of the bin, sources and receivers are placed in such a way that the midpoints between sources and receivers are located in a bin with a certain minimum sufficient size.

EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of conducting seismic surveys by preventing surveys with an excessively small step, as well as improving the method for conducting seismic surveys by determining the minimum sufficient size of the bin.
