METHOD FOR PREDICTING TUMOR INVASION INTO A CAPSULE IN PAPILLARY THYROID CANCER Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61B10/00 G01N33/53

Abstract RU 2780942 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, namely oncology, and can be used to predict tumor invasion into the capsule in papillary thyroid cancer. The method involves conducting a study of tumor biological markers in the patient’s tissue. RNA is isolated from tumor tissue and the expression of 4E-BP1 is determined, data on the size of the tumor and data on metastatic lesion of regional lymph nodes are taken into account before histological examination and the probability of tumor germination into the thyroid capsule is calculated.

EFFECT: use of the invention makes it possible to predict an unfavorable prognosis of the disease, namely the risk of tumor recurrence after treatment, in the early stages after thyroidectomy, before histological verification of the diagnosis.
