SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict the development of tumor recurrence in papillary thyroid cancer. RNA is isolated from tumor tissue obtained after thyroidectomy and ER expression is determinedβ. At the level of ER expression β more than 1.09 relative units predict a low risk of tumor recurrence. At ER level β less than 1.09 relative units predict a high risk of tumor recurrence.

EFFECT: method provides an increase in the information content of prediction by determining the expression of ER β in thyroid tumor tissue.
