FIELD: electronics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electronic equipment, namely, to delay systems for high-power O-type broadband apparatus. Delay system for a TWT comprises a rectangular waveguide with a periodic structure along the central axis of conducting elements transverse to a common axis. A transient channel, two protrusions, and two coupling slots are made in each transverse element, and the elements are rotated relative to each other in the period by 90°. Each transverse element has N transient channels with hexagonal packing, wherein N is 7 or more, and each hexagonal protrusion only covers the transient channels. Additional protrusions are made on the wall of the waveguide opposite the hexagonal protrusion in the direction of the common axis of the system and the groove on the edges of the wall.

EFFECT: increase in the average and pulse output powers of an apparatus with a gain band of at least 16% and ensured good heat removal from the elements of the delay system.
