SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering and can be used for determining eddy current losses in the magnetic core of a transformer. Method for determining eddy current losses in the magnetic core of a transformer includes measuring the losses in the steel of the magnetic core by a no-load test twice at a temperature T1 (e.g., at the ambient temperature) and at a temperature T2 (e.g., at the steady-state working temperature) and calculating the eddy current losses based on the results of measurements, the values of temperatures T1 and T2, and the thermal resistance coefficient of the steel of the magnetic core plates.
EFFECT: easier determining of eddy current losses in the magnetic core of a transformer for a certain temperature.
