FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering, namely to electrical machines, and can be used to reduce their idling losses. Method of determining the optimum thickness of the magnetic conductor of a transformer consists in measurement of losses in the magnetic conductor by an open-circuit test for two values of the thickness of the sheets at one frequency at nominal and reduced voltages for two values of the thickness of the sheets. Optimum thickness of sheets during operation of transformer with nominal voltage is determined by formula
where Pn1 is loss in magnetic core with thickness of sheets δ1 at nominal voltage Un; Pr1 is loss in magnetic core with thickness of sheets δ1 at reduced voltage Ur; Pn2 is loss in magnetic core with sheet thickness δ2 at nominal voltage Un; Pr2 is loss in magnetic core with sheet thickness δ2 at reduced voltage Ur; m=Ur/Un.
EFFECT: possibility of reducing magnetic losses in the transformer due to optimization of the thickness of the magnetic conductor sheets.
