FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, namely to electrical machines and can be used in determining magnetic losses in transformers. Method of determining the exponent of magnetic induction in abnormal losses of the transformer core consists in conducting open-circuit experiments at nominal and reduced voltage and calculation of index γ by formula containing value of previously found hysteresis, eddy current classical and abnormal losses (Ph, Pe and Pa) at three frequencies ƒ1, ƒ2, ƒ3 at rated voltage, value of total losses (Pt) in steel at reduced voltage, and ratio of reduced and rated stress (m). Magnetic induction index in abnormal losses is determined by formula:

EFFECT: enabling determination of magnetic induction degree γ in abnormal losses for steel of transformer core.
