SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to medical diagnostics, and can be used to predict the risk of developing gastric ulcer (GU) in unrelated Russian individuals, natives of the Central Black Earth region of the Russian Federation. Venous blood is taken, DNA is isolated from peripheral venous blood, and polymorphic markers of the MMP-9 gene are analyzed. A high risk of developing GU is predicted by detecting the CCGA haplotype of polymorphic loci rs3918242-rs3918249-rs17576-rs3787268 of the MMP-9 gene.

EFFECT: method provides for obtaining new criteria for assessing the risk of developing GU in individuals of Russian nationality, natives of the Central Black Earth region of the Russian Federation, based on data on polymorphic loci rs3918242-rs3918249-rs17576-rs3787268 of the MMP-9 gene.
