FIELD: medicine; clinical oncology; medical genetics; molecular diagnostics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict the risk of developing the luminal subtype of breast cancer in women of the Russian nationality. DNA from the peripheral venous blood is isolated. Polymorphic loci of MMP-9 gene are analyzed. When detecting the TAACG haplotype of polymorphic loci rs3918249-rs17576-rs3787268-rs2250889-rs17577 of the MMP-9 gene, a high risk of developing the luminal subtype of breast cancer is predicted.
EFFECT: method provides obtaining new criteria for assessment of breast cancer risk developing in patients of Russian nationality, natives of the Central Black Earth region of the Russian Federation, based on data on polymorphic loci rs3918249-rs17576-rs3787268 of the MMP-9 gene.
