SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electronic equipment and is used to manufacture UHF absorbers of spiral TWTs with improved operational characteristics. The technical result is achieved by the method for manufacturing UHF absorbers, including the application of a pyrolytic carbon film from a mixture of hydrocarbon-containing gases onto ceramic workpieces secured in rotating fittings inside a reactor using onlays, being characterised by applying the film in multiple cycles; in the first cycle, the largest onlays are placed on the workpieces; in the second and the subsequent cycles, the size of the onlays is reduced each time, and the last film application cycle is performed without onlays; wherein the content of hydrocarbons in the working gas mixture is 15 to 50%, the temperature inside the reactor is 700°C≤T≤1,100°C, and the time of the ith cycle is calculated by the formula.

EFFECT: creation of UHF absorbers with variable frictional resistance, wherein the change in frictional resistance of the ceramic rod may occur from a linear to an exponential law.
