SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of long products with different cross-sectional shapes. The method for producing long-length rod products from discrete or plasticized materials includes supplying the material compacted in an extrusion press to the deforming, forming and calibrating channels of the tooling. In this case, the billet is subjected to upsetting, drawing and torsional deformation by exposing it to the profiled surface of the deforming channel. Torsional deformations of the workpiece are created in the process of its movement along the deforming channel by rotating the profiled surface of the workpiece relative to the axis of the deforming channel under the influence of the profiled surface of the channel, providing in the axial sections of the workpiece, depending on the angle of their inclination to the directions of its local settlement at the entrance to the deformation channel, or deformations of different signs bending, or cyclically passing into each other and directed along the axis of the deformation channel of the draft and drawing of the workpiece.
