SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine and discloses a method for producing collagen powder for medical purposes from animal skin, including the stages of mechanically releasing fatty residue from the collagen raw materials; washing said materials, treating with an alkaline element, treating with acid followed by washing with water, wringing and washing the material with water; removing water from the resulting matrix product and drying the matrix in a stretched mould to create a membrane, wherein rabbit skin is used as the raw materials, and the membrane resulting from the above treatment is smoothed on both sides after drying, followed by undergoing shock freezing in liquid nitrogen, then ground in a mill in a frozen state, and the resulting collagen powder being sterilised by alpha radiation.
