FIELD: industrial ecology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to industrial ecology and can be used to neutralize waste solutions, which are waste products from the production of electrochemical and chemical coatings with copper, nickel, cadmium, zinc and other metals and contain metal ions and ethylenediaminetetraacetate as the main components. In the method for neutralizing waste solutions containing ethylenediaminetetraacetate, the waste solution containing ethylenediaminetetraacetate and the waste from galvanic production - the waste solution from coating production, containing chromium (+6) are mixed. The reaction solution is then kept for a time at which a constant chromium concentration (+6) is reached.
EFFECT: method provides mutual neutralization of two types of toxic production wastes, achievement of a high degree of removal of ethylenediaminetetraacetate from waste solutions, reduction of material costs for environmental protection, expansion of the arsenal of methods for neutralizing waste solutions containing ethylenediaminetetraacetate or chromium (+6).
