FIELD: electrochemical catalysts.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing an electrochemical catalyst having electrocatalytic activity to hydrogen peroxide by electrochemical generation of a polymer matrix and gold nanoparticles, namely in the process of single-stage electrolysis for 3 minutes on a stainless steel cathode at a constant potential (-0.16)-(-1.2) V from an electrolyte of the following composition: acrylamide - 3 mol/l, N,N’-methylene bisacrylamide - 0.05 mol/l, formaldehyde - 3 mol/l, zinc chloride - 0.2 mol/l, hydrochloric acid - 2-6 mmol/l.

EFFECT: development of a one-stage and short-term method for obtaining a composite coating for a gold-containing electrocatalyst for the reduction of hydrogen peroxide, effective and easy to use, porous with nanoparticles of the active metal evenly distributed in the polymer volume, as well as a gold sublayer on the electrode surface.
