FIELD: metrology.
SUBSTANCE: mass flow meter relates to the field of metrology related to measurements of a flow rate of liquids and gases. It is a straight horizontal measuring channel located inside a control section of a gas pipeline. It contains a heater and temperature sensors located at three points: in front of an input to the channel, in the beginning of a heated section, and in the end of it. The channel is covered with a heat insulator layer from the outside, and two holes are located in sidewalls. Heater current releases heat with power P, creating a temperature difference Δt between control points. There are heat losses through the heat insulator, with power P0. Mass flow value G is determined by the formula: G=kp(Р-Р0)/cрΔt. If Δt=Const, it is defined by a difference (Р-Р0). If G=0, power P is equal to P0, in this case, a numerator of the formula is also equal to zero.
EFFECT: expansion of the arsenal of means for measurement of a mass flow.
