SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and can be used to determine the initial power density of laser radiation in laser thermotherapy of intraocular tumors. An ophthalmoscopic image is obtained and a computer analysis of the image color parameters is carried out using the Adobe Photoshop computer program, in which absolutely black color corresponds to digital code 0, and absolutely white corresponds to digital code 765. The color parameters of the fundus image in the postequatorial region are analyzed in areas intact from the tumor. Laser thermotherapy with a color code from 173 to 271 starts with a power density of 12.5 W/cm2, with a color code from 272 to 368 - with 20 W/cm2, with a color code from 369 to 475 - with 30 W/cm2.

EFFECT: method provides complete regression in laser thermotherapy of non-pigmented intraocular tumors by assessing the degree of pigmentation of the fundus.
