FIELD: catalysts production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for producing a catalyst for the oxidation of CO to CO2 in various industrial purification systems and can be used, in particular, in the post-treatment of exhaust gases from internal combustion engines. Obtaining a catalyst for the oxidation of CO based on copper nanowires includes the manufacture of a growth polymer matrix having through channels-pores, the creation of a contact layer of copper up to 50 nm thick on one of the surfaces of the growth matrix by vacuum thermal spraying, the preparation of an aqueous electrolyte solution for copper deposition, and the growth contact layer of copper to a thickness of 50-70 microns in a galvanic bath. The aqueous electrolyte solution contains CuSO4 from 100 to 200 g/l, H2SO4 from 10 to 20 g/l. Galvanic deposition of copper into the pores of the growth matrix is carried out in a galvanic cell using a copper anode in a potentiostatic mode at a potential of 0.4 to 0.6 V, controlling the degree of filling of the pores by the flowing charge. After filling the pores of the growth matrix with copper, it is removed using a sodium hydroxide solution.
