SUBSTANCE: in the vehicle control method, the position of a stationary object on the road along which the main vehicle is moving is detected; the speed of the main vehicle and the position and speed of the oncoming vehicle are detected. An area that includes a stationary object on the road is defined. The position of the separation of the main and oncoming vehicle is calculated. The first and second indicators related to the speed and acceleration of an oncoming vehicle are calculated and these parameters are combined. The main vehicle is slowed down when the combined parameter is greater than or equal to a predetermined value, or to accelerate when the indicator is less than a predetermined value, in the case when the exit position is within the mentioned area.

EFFECT: The present invention enables to take into account the intention of the driver of the oncoming vehicle.
