SUBSTANCE: method for quantitative assessment of HIV reservoir is described, including isolation of DNA from a sample of biological material, PCR reaction in a “real time” mode, using DNA calibrator with the known concentration, building of calibration graphs, and determination of a size of HIV reservoir. In this case, when conducting PCR in a “real time” mode, high-copy and low-copy dilutions of DNA calibrator, which is plasmid with the known concentration of human β-globin gene and HIV pol gene, are used, while each calibrator dilution is used in at least two repeats. In addition, DNA calibrator for implementation of the method according to cl.1-3 is presented, which is plasmid with a built-in fragment of HIV pol gene and human β-globin gene, where a sequence of HIV pol gene is selected from SEQ ID NO: 1, and a sequence of human β-globin gene is selected from SEQ ID NO: 2.
EFFECT: invention expands the arsenal of means for diagnostics of HIV.
