FIELD: experimental medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to experimental medicine, namely to neurology. On the rabbit along the line of the coronal suture, departing from the sagittal suture 5 mm in both directions, one burr hole is applied. Through each milling hole, 3 ml of a 10% formalin solution is injected. After that, the experimental rabbit is placed in a refrigerator at a temperature of plus 4°C. After 24 hours, it is removed from the refrigeration chamber and a wide craniotomy of the skull roof to its base is performed. The posterior arch of the first and second cervical vertebrae is resected. Starting from the olfactory lobes, the brain is raised upward and backward, dissecting the cerebral hemispheres from the surrounding tissues. The cranial nerves and vessels are resected at the base of the inner surface of the skull. At the level of the second cervical vertebra, the spinal cord and its roots are resected, after which the brain is removed.
EFFECT: method is effective and makes it possible to extract the brain from an experimental animal without damage.
