FIELD: non-destructive testing.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for non-destructive testing of the presence of defects in products made of quartz ceramics. The substance of the invention lies in the fact that the product after cleaning is impregnated with liquid, removed from the surface of the product, an indicator penetrant is applied to the surface of the product, its excess is removed from the surface of the product and defects are detected, characterized in that water is used as the impregnating liquid, into which the product and keep it until it is completely impregnated, and as an indicator penetrant, a water-based color penetrant is applied, which is kept for 3-10 minutes, then the excess penetrant is removed from the surface of the product by washing with water and the presence of defects is judged by the nature of the indicator pattern, after whereby the product is dried at a temperature of 400-450°C for 2-4 hours to restore the original characteristics of the product.
EFFECT: increasing the reliability of detection of defects in products made of quartz ceramics.
