FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: method for assessment of a count rate at an input of a radiation pulse detector by a detector signal is proposed, where some separate signal pulses composing the detector signal are spaced in time for less than the minimum reliable interval of non-detection. Signal pulses are detected using a detection algorithm, and a set of times of interval starts is defined, each of which alternates with at least one of arrival times of detected separate signal pulses, wherein time of start of each interval is later for at least the minimum reliable interval of non-detection than corresponding the last arrival time of the detected separate signal pulse. A corresponding set of arrival intervals of separate signal pulses is calculated between each of times of interval start and the corresponding arrival time of the following detected separate signal pulse.

EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of assessment of a count rate of a detector.
