FIELD: steel casting.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of continuous casting of steel. A method for manufacturing a mold for continuous casting includes forming concave sections on the inner surface of the copper plate of the mold and filling them with metal, the thermal conductivity of which is different from the thermal conductivity of the copper plate. The metal filling the concave sections is layered and is formed from two or more layers stacked on top of each other from the bottom of the concave section to its opening in the direction normal to the inner surface of the mold. Each second layer and layers above the second layer are made of nickel or an alloy based on it with a thickness of 0.2-2 mm. The layers are formed by irradiating nickel or alloy powder with a laser beam as it is fed to melt and subsequently solidify said powder. Thus, the second layer and the layers above it form a multilayer deposited layered metal with a total thickness of 1-10 mm.
EFFECT: reduction of cracking and chipping of the mold wall by reducing stresses on the surface between said concave part and copper plate is provided.
