FIELD: chemical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of chemical engineering and may be applicable in the production of sorbents and catalysts for various branches of the chemical and petrochemical industries. Proposed is a method for producing biporous granular aluminium oxide, characterised by including the stages of wet mixing the aluminium oxide precursor - pseudobemite with water containing nitric acid, followed by producing a homogeneous plastic mass, moulding by extrusion and heat-treating; at the mixing stage, wood flour in an amount of 2 to 8 wt.% of the mass of the aluminium oxide precursor is additionally added, and the resulting aluminium oxide is characterised by a specific surface area greater than 130 m2/g, a pore volume greater than 0.45 cm3/g, and a biporous structure represented by pores with a size of 2 to 30 nm and 30 nm to 5 mcm.
EFFECT: technologically simple production if aluminium oxide with a biporous system, suitable for use in sorption or as a carrier for producing catalytic materials based thereon.
