FIELD: organic chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of organic chemistry, namely to a method for obtaining 4-halogen-1H-pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyridine-1,3(2H)-diones of the general formula (1), where X=Cl, R1=R2=CH3; X=Br, R1=R2=CH3; X=Cl, R1+R2=(CH2)3; X=Cl, R1=CH3, R2=Ph. The method consists in reacting the corresponding 2-halopyridine-3,4-dicarbonitriles with 95% sulfuric acid at a temperature of 30-60°C for 24-30 h, diluting the reaction mass with water, filtering the precipitate, and purifying the product by column chromatography.
EFFECT: development of a method for the preparation of 4-halo-1H-pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyridine-1,3(2H)-diones, previously not described in the literature, with a yield of 78-97%.
