FIELD: fiber optic components; methods for their production.
SUBSTANCE: claimed method of assembling an optical fiber with body parts of a fiber optic assembly includes mutual positioning of the parts and the optical fiber, preheating the body of the assembly and connecting them with a binding substance, the preheating of the body of the assembly is carried out to a temperature exceeding the maximum allowable operating temperature of the fiber optic assembly, and applying the binding substance to the fixed sections of the optical fiber and the attachment section. At the same time, a material chosen as a binding substance shall cure at the temperature in the range from the preheating temperature to the maximum allowable operating temperature of the fiber-optic assembly, and after hardening of the binding substance the temperature is reduced to room temperature. Moreover, in order to avoid fiber breakage or increase in losses, the length of the body volume is calculated as a function of the minimum allowable bending radius of the fiber used and the value of the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) of the body.
EFFECT: creation of a method for assembling an optical fiber with a stabilized position of the optical fiber and achieving constancy of the radiation power transmitted through the optical fiber under increased mechanical and climatic loads, as well as simplifying the process of assembling the optical fiber.
