FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring equipment, and it is intended to determine with a high degree of accuracy a level of liquid media with different refractive indices, including in non-stationary objects. A sensor for controlling a liquid level is proposed, containing sequentially installed and optically matched radiation source, transmitting fiber light guide, sensing element, receiving fiber light guide and photodetector connected to signal processing unit, while the sensing element is made in the form of two segments of fiber light guides installed in a frame with a gap, one ends of which in the gap are perpendicular to their optical axes, and the other are optically matched, respectively, with transmitting and receiving fiber light guides, while the sensor additionally contains at least one off-axis receiving light guide, the distance to which from the axial one is a function of a working wavelength of the radiation, the gap between receiving and transmitting light guides and aperture angles of light guides for measured media.
EFFECT: creation of a fireproof and noise-proof sensor for measuring the liquid level and type.
