FIELD: ethylene production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and apparatus for measuring the temperature of the outer surface of a radiant coil. A method for estimating the temperature of the outer surface of a radiant coil of a cracking furnace for the production of ethylene is described, which includes a convection coil that preheats hydrocarbons used as raw materials and steam, a radiant coil that thermally decomposes preheated hydrocarbons and steam, and a housing for them, where the method includes: a step in which an area of the radiant coil to be imaged is shot with an image transmitting camera; and a step in which the output signal from the image transmitting camera is processed by an image analyzer and the temperature of the outer surface of the depicted radiant coil is measured, where the image transmitting camera is a color video camera that provides the brightness for each light-receiving pixel at each RGB (red-green-blue) wavelength, a monochrome video camera that provides the brightness for each light-receiving pixel at a single wavelength from 1 to 3 mcm, or a 2-sensor camera that provides the brightness ratio between a first wavelength and a second wavelength, both of which are between 1 to 3 mcm. Described is a device for measuring the temperature of the outer surface of the radiant coil of an ethylene cracking furnace, which is installed in an ethylene cracking furnace, including a convection coil that preheats hydrocarbons used as raw materials and steam, a radiant coil that thermally decomposes preheated hydrocarbons. and steam, and housing for their placement, including transmitting the image of the camera, which forms an image of the area of the radiant coil, which must be imaged; and an image analyzer that processes the output signal from the image transmitting camera and measures the temperature of the outer surface of the radiant coil, where the image transmitting camera is a color video camera that outputs the brightness for each light-receiving pixel at each RGB (red-green-blue) wavelength, a monochrome video camera that provides the brightness for each light-receiving pixel at one wavelength of 1 to 3 mcm, or a 2-sensor camera that provides the brightness ratio between the first wavelength and the second wavelength, both of which are 1 to 3 mcm. A device for the production of ethylene is described, including the device described above for measuring the temperature of the outer surface.
EFFECT: estimation of the temperature of the outer surface of the radiant coil.
