SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agriculture, in particular to vegetable growing and can be used in the cultivation of vegetable products in closed agroecosystems. In the method, lettuce is cultivated in a climatic chamber with photosynthetically active radiation with a 12-hour photoperiod at 20-22°C— daily temperatures and 15-17°C— night temperatures, using a culture of manure (compost) worms Eisenia fetida. They are added to the substrate a week after its preparation. After adding the worms, lettuce seeds are sown in a week. The number of worms is 12–36 pieces per 1 kg of substrate. To prepare the substrate, complex high-moor peat deoxidized to pH 7.0 with a moisture content of 80% is used, which is mixed with fresh cattle manure without bedding with a moisture content of 80–90% in a ratio of 9:1. The light source in the climate chamber is a warm white fluorescent lamp with an illumination intensity of 87 mcmol quanta/m2⋅s.

EFFECT: increasing in the yield of leaf lettuce by increasing the growth rate and size of lettuce leaves.
