SUBSTANCE: root and tuber cutter contains a detachable body, which includes two parts interconnected by bolted connections (2): the upper one with the loading neck and the lower one with the unloading (4) neck. The cover is rigidly connected to the upper part, and the bed is rigidly connected to the lower part (4). The gear motor is bolted to the cover. Inside the split housing in the lower part of the unloading neck (4), a horizontal cutting drum (8) is fixedly mounted, consisting of annular knives located at a distance relative to each other. A shaft (9) passes through the center of the cutting drum (8), rotating in the bearing supports of the split housing from the gear motor. An X-shaped carrier (10) is rigidly fixed to the shaft (9), one arm of which is pivotally connected to the L-shaped clamp (11), and a comb (12) is bolted to the other arm, having protrusions for pushing roots and tubers (14) through the annular knives and for simultaneous cleaning of the inter-knife space. The cutting drum (8) is fixed to the bottom of the unloading neck (4) with pins (15).

EFFECT: expansion of process capabilities of the device, increase in structural reliability, increase in productivity and decrease in energy intensity of the process of cutting roots and tubers.
