FIELD: analytical chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry, and in particular to methods for determining copper in natural, industrial and domestic wastewater and soil. A method is proposed for the determination of copper in water using a polymethacrylate matrix with immobilized neocuproin, when light absorption is used as an analytical signal, while using lumogallion, which interacts with copper in solution and forms a stable complex compound, colored red, spectrophotometric measurement of the optical density of a solution of a complex compounds are carried out at a wavelength λ=490 and a pH value of 3-6.
EFFECT: increase in the limit of detection and determination of copper content in highly diluted solutions, accuracy and speed of analysis.
