FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to assess the relief of the anterior and posterior surface of the cornea. The patient's cornea is examined using the Scheimflug imaging method. Then the elevation profile of the anterior and posterior surface of the cornea is assessed. If a regular corneal relief is detected in the form of an open ring on the side of the anterior surface and an open ring on the side of the posterior surface, it is distinguished as a homogeneous scar type A. If a regular corneal profile is detected in the form of a closed ring on the side of the anterior surface of the cornea and a closed ring on the side of the posterior surface of the cornea it is distinguished as a cicatrically homogeneous type B. When a regular corneal profile is detected in the form of a closed ring from the side of the anterior surface of the cornea and an open ring from the side of the posterior surface of the cornea it is distinguished as a cicatrically heterogeneous type C. When a regular corneal profile is detected in the form of an open ring from the anterior surface of the cornea and a closed ring from the side of the posterior surface of the cornea, a cicatrically heterogeneous type D is isolated. When an irregular curve of the profile of anterior and posterior surface of the cornea with separate zones of positive and negative elevation is detected it is assessed as irregular heterogeneous type E.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to isolate individual types of deformation of the anterior and posterior corneal surfaces in order to determine the optimal medical tactics.
