FIELD: information; measuring technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for measuring parameters of movement of trains. The locomotive speed meter is made in form of an RFID tag installed on the outer surface of the wheel pair shaft with the ability to transmit data via channels operating at low, high and ultra-high frequencies, and a stationary identification code reader installed on the axle box of the wheel pair, while speed measurement sensors locomotive and direction of movement are installed on each wheel pair of the locomotive.

EFFECT: increase of reliability of measuring the speed of a rolling stock.
