SUBSTANCE: invention relates to determining the speed of rolling stock. The system for determining the speed of a railroad engine contains three sensors for measuring the movement speed connected to a unified integrated railroad engine safety device and installed on the shaft of the drive wheel pair and an inertial measurement module connected to a unified integrated railroad engine safety device. Moreover, all the three speed measurement sensors contain a QR code printed on the shafts of the wheel pairs, a reading device installed above the shaft, and a wheel pair shaft speed recorder.

EFFECT: improved reliability of measuring the speed of rolling stock.
