The battery cell contains a pressure relief mechanism, the pressure relief mechanism is located in the first wall of the battery cell, and the pressure relief mechanism is configured to be actuated to reduce the internal pressure, when the internal pressure or temperature of the battery cell reaches a threshold value, and also contains a thermoregulatory component for the fluid medium to adjust the temperature of the battery cell, wherein the thermoregulatory component is capable of being damaged when the pressure release mechanism is actuated, as a result of which the fluid is discharged from the inside of the thermoregulatory component. The fluid can absorb heat from the battery cell and lower the emission temperature, whereby the risk caused by a failure of one battery cell can be suppressed and the possibility of battery explosion can be reduced, and the safety of the battery can be improved.
