FIELD: foundry production.

SUBSTANCE: suspension for a shell ceramic mold for casting its layers, except for the facing one, contains a ceramic refractory material and a highly alkaline binder in the form of an aqueous colloidal solution of metal oxide. Fused mullite is used as a ceramic refractory material, and the components were taken at the following ratio, in % by weight: high-alkaline aqueous colloidal binder 51.0-55.0, fused mullite 45.0-49.0. The density of the suspension is 1.58-1.68 g/cm3, the viscosity of the suspension is 30-35 s.

EFFECT: consistently high quality of shell ceramic molds is ensured, which helps to reduce deviations in the geometry of the resulting castings, as well as the suitability of using a suspension for an automated process of manufacturing ceramic molds.
