FIELD: foundry production.
SUBSTANCE: suspension for the damping layer of a ceramic mould in investment casting contains a filler and a highly alkaline water-colloidal binder in the form of a water-colloidal solution of metal oxide. As a filler, the suspension contains fused mullite and crystalline cast graphite with the following component content, wt.%: high-alkaline water-colloidal binder - 73.0-77.0, fused mullite - 6.0-8.0, crystalline cast graphite - 17.0-19.0. The density of the suspension is 1.30-1.50 g/cm3, the viscosity of the suspension, determined using a “ВЗ-4” viscometer, is 15-20 s. The use of the highly alkaline water-colloidal binder Armosil AM makes it possible to produce suspensions without restrictions on their survivability, which contributes to waste-free and environmental safety.
EFFECT: production of casting ceramic moulds of consistently high quality, which helps to eliminate the formation of hot cracks in castings and reduce their deviations in geometry, with the possibility of automated production of ceramic moulds.
