FIELD: medicine; anesthesiology; resuscitation.
SUBSTANCE: after the end of the operation, the supply of sevoflurane and associated gases, such as air or nitrous oxide, is stopped. From this point on, IVL is carried out with 100% oxygen in a flow of 1 l/min for 10 minutes. During this time, the concentration of sevoflurane on exhalation is gradually reduced from 3% to 1.5%. After that, a high flow of oxygen supply is switched on — 5 l/min. Within 1 minute, lower the concentration of sevoflurane on exhalation to 0.8%. Then the child is transferred to spontaneous breathing and the laryngeal mask is removed. Awakening of the child occurs in 25–30 minutes without agitation.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to provide effective physiological, economical, technically simple prevention of post-anesthesia agitation during inhalation anesthesia with sevoflurane in children without the use of additional expensive medicinal products.
