FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for preserving viability of hematopoietic stem cells of umbilical blood after washing from cryoprotectant. Said method consists in defrosting umbilical blood concentrate with hematopoietic stem cells CD34+ (HSC); washing the hematopoietic stem cells from the cryoprotectant, centrifuging three times at 300 g for 10 minutes, removing the supernatant layer, resuspending the obtained precipitate to obtain washed cells, which are further brought to the required volume with a washing solution at a rate of not more than 20*10'8 leukocytes in 20 ml of said solution.
EFFECT: invention is effective for preserving viability of umbilical blood stem cells after washing from cryoprotectant.
