FIELD: pharmaceutical industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the method for quantitative eleutheroside B (syringin) determination in the rhizomes and roots of Eleutherococcus senticosus. The method consists in obtaining an extract of eleutheroside B (syringin) from the rhizomes and roots of Eleutherococcus senticosus with 40% ethanol for 60 min at a ratio of raw material-extractant of 1:50, further chromatographic separation in isocratic mode, a mixture of acetonitrile with 1 % solution of acetic acid in water in a ratio of 15:85; the content of eleutheroside B (syringin) in the rhizomes and roots of Eleutherococcus senticosus in terms of absolutely dry raw materials in percent X is calculated by the formula:

where H is the average peak height of eleutheroside B (syringin) calculated from the chromatograms of the test sample solution; Ho is the average height of the peak of eleutheroside B (syringin) calculated from the chromatograms of the standard sample solution of eleutheroside B (syringin); V is the volume of extraction, ml; P is dilution; Vo is the volume of the solution of the standard sample of eleutheroside B (syringin), ml, V1 is the volume of the injected sample of the test sample solution, μl; V2 is the volume of the injected sample of the solution of the standard sample of eleutheroside B (syringin), µl; mo is the mass of the standard sample, g; m is the mass of raw materials, g; W is the mass loss during drying of raw materials, %; 0.95 is the coefficient of conversion of eleutheroside B (syringin) to an anhydrous substance.

EFFECT: increased yield of eleutheroside B (syringin), increased objectivity of the analysis and reduced duration of the method for the quantitative determination of eleutheroside B (syringin) in the rhizomes and roots of Eleutherococcus senticosus.
