STENTS SET FOR BILATERAL LOWER AIRWAY ENDOPROSTHETICS IN BIFURCATION STENOSE Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61F2/852 A61F2/86

Abstract RU 2796867 C1

FIELD: medicine; surgery.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to expand and restore the patency of the lower respiratory tract, including in the treatment of stenosing malignant tumors of the trachea and bronchi, including cancer of the tracheal bifurcation. A set of stents for bilateral arthroplasty of the lower respiratory tract in bifurcation stenosis includes two metal self-expanding stents made of a curved nitinol thread, the first of which is intended for installation in the main bronchus of the right lung, the second — in the main bronchus of the left lung. The stents are coated with a polymer film and equipped with radiopaque markers. The first stent is provided with openings located at least in the area where this stent mates with the orifice of the right upper lobar bronchus. The stents are made with the possibility of their installation in the first-order bronchi of both lungs and in the lower third of the thoracic trachea with the alignment of the cranial edges in the trachea at the same level to ensure their symmetrical location in the trachea while opening and placing the holes of the first stent at the mouth of the right upper lobar bronchus.

EFFECT: development of a set of two stents for endoscopic treatment of tumor stenoses of the tracheal bifurcation, main and intermediate bronchi at various stages of the disease, with expansion of the lumen of the stenotic area and restoration of its patency, including the mouth of the right upper lobar bronchus.
