FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely, to ophthalmology. Repeat micropulse transscleral cyclophotocoagulation (MP-TSCPC) is performed in various stages of refractory glaucoma. Intraocular pressure (IOP) is measured herein on two consecutive visits after 3 months after the previous procedure. Optical coherence tomography of the retina is performed; if IOP decreased by less than 20% and the thinning of the layer of nerve fibres of the peripapillary retina in the upper and lower segment is statistically significant compared to the initial level, repeat MP-TSCPC is performed with a higher laser energy than in the previous procedure.
EFFECT: possibility of achieving stable stabilisation of the intraocular pressure and reducing the progression of glaucomatous optic neuropathy in patients with refractory glaucoma.
