FIELD: medicine; urology.
SUBSTANCE: in patients who have not previously had acute cerebrovascular accident, who are overweight or obese, or have impaired carbohydrate metabolism, the following anthropometric parameters are determined: age, height, and weight. The body mass index (BMI) is calculated. Additionally, serum biochemical markers of lipid metabolism apolipoprotein B (Apo B) and apolipoprotein A (Apo A1), as well as a marker of insulin resistance — adiponectin (ADN) are detected. The probability of occurrence of the first non-cardioembolic ischemic stroke (P) is determined by the original formula. With a value of R>0.65 predict a high probability of developing the first non-cardioembolic ischemic stroke (IS) within 6–12 months. With a value of P=0.5–0.65, the average probability of developing the first non-cardioembolic IS within 6–12 months is predicted, and with a value of P<0.5 a low probability of developing the first non-cardioembolic IS within 6–12 months is predicted.
EFFECT: method provides a short-term prediction of the occurrence of the first non-cardioembolic ischemic stroke, which makes it possible to implement an individualized approach to prevention, taking into account the identified risk, and can serve as the basis for the development of effective personalized programs for primary and secondary prevention of ischemic stroke in public health practice.
